Babilon Travel NGO is partner and sending organisation in a new Erasmus+ project, Let’s Go Eco Tourism, that will have two main activities (youth exchanges): one in Poland, between 16-25 September, 2016 and one in Slovakia, between 1-8 December, 2016.

The first youth exchange will take place in Murzasichle/Poland and will gather 30 participants from 5 EU countries: Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Germany and Lithuania.

The idea of the project stated from the fact that due to rapid development of many industries and human activities the natural environment is becoming more and more endangered.

Starting from the main topics of the project:

• sustainable development;
• eco tourism;

the project is designed in the way to first provide participants with generic information about the sustainable development and let them together explore topics of Europe 2020 strategy in a very accessible way using non-formal education methodology.

The activities, taking place in the High Tatra Mountains will include lots of fun outdoor activities: hiking, games and maybe climbing the tallest Polish Mountain – Rysy standing at 2499 m. There are also field trips to Krakow and Zakopane.

Regarding the profile of the participants, the project intends to involve young people, age 18-26, interested in ecology, sustainable development, mountaineering and intercultural events, that are motivated to meet other young people from different cultures. They do not need to be an expert in sustainable development or have prior mountaineering experience. The programme is designed for everyone, and will provide participants with generic information regarding the topic. Plus all the hiking activities will be under supervision of experienced leaders.

The working language of the exchange will be English, thus it is essential for participants to be fluent in this language.
