Youth Social Entrepreneurship-Take the Lead
TAKE THE LEAD in Cyprus!
Asociatia Babilon Travel is partner of E-Youth informal group from Cyprus in the Erasmus+ project “Youth Social Entrepreneurship – Take the Lead!”. The main activity is a training course for youth leaders and youth workers that will take place in Nicosia, Cyprus, between March 21-25, 2015.
This training course is offering a unique opportunity to 26 participants from Cyprus, Greece, Croatia, Poland, Spain, Romania, Czech Republic and Malta to take part in a series of workshops, with focus on social entrepreneurship, labormarket opportunities and social inclusion.
The activities during the four days will include seminars which will analyse the role of youth in promoting social inclusion and creating new employment opportunities, as well as how social entrepreneurship can be engaged in achieving these. The participants will have the opportunity to be trained about the skills that characterize a social entrepreneur, the existing opportunities for social networking and funding and also to develop their personal action plans in order to evolve as social entrepreneurs themselves.
The methodological approach of the project is non-formal learning and is based on the idea of “learning by doing”. The activities will be implemented with the support of non-formal education methods and tools (games and exercises, group presentations, workshops, debates, role plays, forum theatre, open space, open café, outdoor activities and team building).
Some of the established aims are:

To explore the current situation in relation to the social effects of economic crisis and unemployment in Europe;
- To analyse the role of youth in promoting social inclusion and creating new employment opportunities;
- To develop the skills needed for promoting social entrepreneurship;
- Each participant will create a strategic personal development plan.
The activities will take place in Nicosia, Cyprus, at Youth Hostel – Zemenides Mansion, between March 21-25, 2015.
The official working language for the training course is English.
The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme, so accommodation throughout the training course is provided by the organizers. In addition, travel expenses will be reimbursed by the organizers (E-Youth Cyprus informal group), after all the travel documents in original are presented, up to a maximum amount specific to each country. Thus for Romania, this limit is 275 Euro.
IMPORTANT: Travel cost cannot be reimburse if you use the Ercan airport which located in the occupied side of the island! Participants need to have health insurance valid in the European Union..
There is a participation fee of 30 Euro.
